Bullmastiffs don't do well outside or in a kennel, they need enough place at home. You should be prepared to cope with sloppy water bowls and tendrils of saliva. Another consideration is providing food for such a big animal. And take into thought that large dogs age faster than smaller ones. Bullmastiffs become old at 6-7 years. Older dogs have many health problems: with tooth and gum; with joints, liver, kidneys.

Barking, digging and chewing are normal dog behavior that can be annoying to people. So if you are not prepared to cope with it, don't get this dog.
If you own the Bullmastiff, it's your duty to provide it with enough physical and mental exercises. Half hour exercises twice a day can make the dog happy, and besides a tired Bullmastiff doesn't have the pent-up energy for misbehavior.
Bull Mastiffs - Puppies
Bullmastiff's puppies are very alert and inquisitive. You should make your home safer for them so as to not to injure themselves. Use the rule of thumb: anything fitting in a puppy's mouth is dangerous. It's advisable to use pet repellant spray on electrical wires. Never feed the puppy chocolate and sweets. It'll upset its gastro-intestinal tract. Puppies grow rapidly and can get wounds because of a small collar. Up to the age of 16 weeks the puppy should be fed 3 times a day, after 16 weeks-twice a day (2 cups a meal). Feed Bullmastiffs puppies only adult food for them to grow at a pace with which their body can keep up. Until 10 months of age Bullmastiff's bones are weak, and the body is large, so inaccurate jumps can lead to serious injures. Also it's very important to brush the Bullmastiffs' teeth and to clean their ears.
